"A dark and lovely book ... "

I was delighted to see a recent post by David Morley on his Warwick creative writing blog, recommending my latest collection, Camper Van Blues, as a Christmas present.

"Jane is an energetic poet with good taste, and she has an engaging way of talking to the dead (poets, historical figures) as if they were in the room with her (didn’t Blake do this for real?) ..."

Many thanks to David, and to everyone who has already bought a copy of CVB. If you do have a copy - erm, and enjoyed it! - it would be wonderful if you could leave a short review on Amazon, or if you have a blog, post your thoughts there and let me know so I can provide a link to it here on Raw Light.

I'm just catching up on writing reviews of my recent reading, I should get something written about CBV this week.

Like the new picture, Sorlil!

But hey, no pressure on writing a review. That comment wasn't aimed at anyone in particular; I'm just uncomfortably aware that most sales these days seem to come about through word-of-mouth, you know, personal recommendation, amazon reviews, blog posts etc.

Certainly I tend to buy books based on other people's recommendations, online or in person, by email or Facebook etc., since so few poetry books make the nationals now, which makes it likely that other poetry buyers find out about new books the same way that I do.

Not an ideal system, but the way it is.

Thankyou! Thought it was about time for an update considering my wee baby is not so wee or a baby anymore!

I saw that review, Jane, very well deserved. Am looking forward to receiving a CVB soon.
