The End of the Novel

Well, at the weekend I reached the end of my Tudor historical, which is over 120,000 words long, did all the usual twiddling and fiddling today, then emailed it off to my agent.

What next?

Dear Jane

Congratulations! It means that you'll be able to get royally pissed on your birthday if nothing else!

Best wishes from Simon

Congrats Jane! Over 120,000 words is no small feat! I hope there's champagne in the fridge :)

Thanks, Simon!

Lacey, alas no, we're neither of us great boozers. When I was younger, I could get slaughtered and still function reasonably normally. These days, a couple of glasses of wine - let alone champagne! - and I topple over.

I have some Rioja simmering on the sideboard though, and will have a glass of that tonight, after my Latin evening class.

Of course, the RNA 50th Anniversary Winter Party falls next week, on my birthday, so I shall be heading down to Westminster for that. I believe a couple of glasses of champagne is included in the ticket price ... ;-)
