It's very jazzy - I like the revolving books on entry. Like a virtual rolodex. They've done a good job.

Dear Jane

Very impressive! I hope it really boosts sales. As a footnote to my last comment, my latest aphorism is: 'You get more arse-licking within the British Poetry Establishment than at the Battersea Dogs' Home.'

Let's try that again.

Simon, you shouldn't have. No, really, you shouldn't have!

Good to see you've moved on since 'Book of Matches' where love poetry is concerned.

Dear Jane

You're a good sport! I did briefly consider changing my name to Simon R. Mitaj if only to prevent poetry editors from binning my manuscripts on sight. I had to abandon the idea when my sister refused to act as courier. I keep dreaming about Craig Raine. Does he read your blog? And last but not least I wish you and your family a very Happy Chinese New Year.

Best wishes from Simon

Thanks, Simon. I doubt that Craig reads my blog.

Just fed the kids some Chinese food - home-made! - for their lunch, as they wanted to try out their new 'easy-to-use' chopsticks. They scoffed the lot, so I obviously have that sweet-sour thing down okay. Must be something to do with my personality ...!

Dear Jane

Do you really have a 'sour' side? I've never seen it but then I am pretty myopic!

This is humour, right?
